Description

A pleasant pungent aroma, this is the species of Thai basil best suited to our climate. Growing to about 30cm, it has a dark purple or brown stem and hairy, serrated leaves that are olive-green or purple in colour. | ||||
Culture

Only water in the morning and encourage the plant to bush by picking the tops. Should be sheltered from the midday sun. | ||||
Harvest/Use
|
||||
Pick leaves as required all summer long and conserve in oil. Add to soup and fish dishes. Mix with Indian tea leaves to make a refreshing drink. | ||||
