Description

A strong scented species of basil, often referred to as Italian basil. Small leaves form a full ball, very decorative and practical grown in a pot on the windowsill. | ||||
Culture

A plant native to the warmth, it will flourish in mid summer and should not be over watered. Pretty round bushes of approx. 20cm dia are best grown in pots. If grown in open ground beware of spoilt lower leaves in sandy soils. Can be over-wintered but crops are poor in 2nd season. | ||||
Harvest/Use

Pick several small leaves to garnish a salad or soup, or clip with scissors to add wonderful taste to pizza. Bring the pots into the warmth of the kitchen before the autumn cold and keep picking until christmas. | ||||
