Description
Airy double variety, the classic filler for roses and dried flower bouquets. Exists in white or pink. Height 60-100 cm.
Culture
Sow seeds March - July at 20 C. Germination in 2 weeks. Grow on in pots and plant out in autumn on well drained soils or the following spring if soil conditions are heavy. Needs a neutral to slightly alcaline soil pH 7.5-8.5. Although there may be a few flowers this first season, for a full on bloom the plant will need to become well established but beware, the roots cannot support being too wet in winter. Cut back all growth to base level in late autumn and re-apply lime to acid soils every 2-3 years.
Harvest/Use
{Associate}
Cut the open blooms in full sun and place stems in a little water. Allowing the water to be absorbed during the first few days of drying will ensure the flowers remain open once dry.
